2003 was a memorable year for second prize winner Endre Mate from Hungary. Not only was it the year his career with Syngenta began, but also the year in which he discovered photography. “I work as a trialist in R&D. I take a lot of photos which result from my job. My intention is to forward all the things I experience during my everyday work through photos to my colleagues and the growers” explains Endre. His picture was highly regarded by the jury for its “realness and simplicity”.
