TOP PRIZE 2007

Bryan Briggs, Canada
Category: “Patterns and Colors in Agriculture”

First prize went to Bryan Briggs from Canada for his “Patterns and Colors” submission. “Taken during a hot air balloon ride, we flew south of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on this cool fall morning. The sun had just risen in the east as we floated over this field during harvest. It provided some interesting shadows on the landscape” explained Bryan of the winning picture.

Based in Calgary, Bryan works in Syngenta Crop Protection. Outside of work, he enjoys taking photographs through all seasons of the year, rarely traveling without his camera. “I have never entered any photo contest except our national photo competition here with Syngenta Canada. But with some encouragement from Brad Smith in our Regional office, I picked some photos, had them printed and mailed them in for this contest. I had sort of forgotten about the competition so it was a great Christmas surprise to receive the winning email” Bryan goes on. Catching the judges’ eye, for its light shadows, use of colors and simple uniqueness Bryan won the prize.
