A trained entomologist, Monica took this photo of a honeybee in her own garden. The bee is feeding on a salvia she planted to attract insects. Monica, who works at Syngenta’s Jealott’s Hill facility as a Biotechnology Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager, says, "The real challenge with insects is to capture the texture and colors, so the lighting is crucial."
Because of her subject and the importance of light, most of her photos are taken in summer. She has been a keen photographer for 20 years, with a particular interest in
"I love taking photos of wildlife; in particular caterpillars, bees and insects. This year, I set up the Photography Club at Syngenta Jealott’s Hill. We have monthly meetings and, when we have time, we arrange outings. We have 90 club members."
